Sir Oli told us that we should really prepare for the exam and to use the reviewer cause it would really help. He also told us of what is to come for us. We would have to study a company and its better f we would stay with 1 company for the rest of our college life. He also told us that we had to choose an adviser to help us in the projects and it would be better if the choosen adviser is similar to our atitude or something like that :D, He also told us what the higher year people were doing with there projects us guide for us. He also told us about how parents get became close because of their offsprings projects, and some became bestfriends and had their own business, hahaha. ICTM is a good way for kids and parents to get together XD.
Intrict will always be in my memories, it was because of Intrict that I learned to stay up very late for school work. IT was really fun during each class. He always gives us advice. It was a really great class :D
I hope we all pass Intrict :DSee you Sir Oli and thanks~

12th Week of Intrict~
Sir Oli showed us a video about how data is transfered through the Internet. I also learned that 5 programming languages needed to be learned; (1) JAVA!!!, (2) SQL???, (3) .Net???, (4) Web Languages..., (5) Moble Languages...
anyway, its time to dance, HAHAHAHA.
we were 1st and we performed hit me up, Kreeno was our star!!!!In the other groups;(1) Quino was imitating a rich guys which was so funny because he was fanning himself with bills, (2) In Mark's group Kevin Reyes performed the intro which was kind of malaswa but ok, hahaha, and the girls were wearing skirts, (3) Jerik was Chris Brown, which was realy funny XD, (5) Meg's group was really funny, and she was singing the steps "Shampoo, buhos, sabon..etc" hhahaha, (6) but the best part was the ultimate showdown of Shervin and Vince XD
As reward, Sir Oli told us that he would upload the 500 item reviewer. cool~

11th week of Intrict~
We were given an activity regarding car sales on different areas and year. We had to present data to a company in a way that they would understand it. Not a single group got a correct answer so we all got minus(-) points. to get rid of the minus points, we had to prepare a dance number that will be performed next week during class. hahahah.
The next meeting, I learned why the Y2K problem was really a threat to the world. All data could have been invalid or erased because of the Y2K. Sir Oli told us that LaSalle was also having a crisis about the Y2K, because the start of our ID number was based on the year we enrolled and the a computation to get the rest of the numbers. If it turned to 00-----, every one would have an ID number of 00000000 which would cause major problems. I also learned about the history of the USB, from an 8 inches disk to a small USB today, and the capacity has grown with the evolution. There is a format regarding the size of capacity. from 2byte X 2byte = 4byte X 2 byte = 8byte an soon on.
Sir Oli also taught us that the Philippines' Internet is from Taiwan, and Taiwan's is connected to the USA. We only have third hand Internet, hahaha. Oh yeah, without Planer Goks, there wouldn't be Internet on Lasalle, hahaha :P.

7th week of Intrict~
This week was all about Sir Oli's Coco juice (^_^), and about being a consultant. I learned that critical thingking and analysis is muchly needed to be a good consultant. An IS consultants job is to provide solutions for a company's problem. In the future, problems will be solve with only an IS and that means work for us, the ICT rpofessionals and more money fo succes!!! :D Being and ICT professional needs a lot of brain work so exercising our minds is a must.
8th week of Intrict~
Week 8 was supposed to be the week that sir oli teaches us how to solve the coco juice problem but it never happened, and our suggestions for the solutions were not half right XD. This week was one of the most stressful week,we had a departmental exam on Intrprg and a long exam on ScienVB which was on the same day by the way. >.< Anyways, Sir Oli gave us this index cards that we should keep cause according to him, it was the things that we needed in order to provide a good IS, or to answer ICT questions(its hard to explain :D ).
9th week of Intrict~
This week we had a field trip in Makro Makati, it was really fun and interesting. Makro had its own systems like the Makro Business System and unique packaging. Makro also has a system that records the visits and items bought of the customers that helps them provide their customers better services. Makro only accepts Just-in-time delivery and their stocks have very easy access so there is not hassle. Sir Oli also showed us the two machines to be used in the ARMM electronic election and in the 2010 electronic election. The two machines are DRE (direct reading electronic) and the OMR (optical mark reader). Important factors needed for data capturing are: (1)Completeness, (2) Correctness and Accuracy, (3) Reliability, (4) Provisions for Correction and Error Detection, and (5) WOw I like it factor (User-friendliness); there are also other factors like: (1) Environmental Application, (2) HYGENE in Use, (3) Disability Consideration, and (4) Cost, Life of Device(Durability).
We also learned about the weird things that happens during elections(cheating!!!) and the DUGYOT!!!! XD

6th week of Intrict~
During the 6th week, we had an exam and man did I screw up, I got a low score cause it was so freakin hard
!!! Would you believe that only a few students had a passing score!!! So its back to study for the Midterms, I gotta get a high score
!!!
Anyways, We learned about what an Information System is and what it does. Creating a system is really important for a company and thats why a company needs an ICT professional. An Information System is composed of Software, Hardware, Data, People, Process, and Network that works together to create more accurate information anywhere, anytime. The reasons for information are: (1) Internal improvement in the conduct of operation; (2)Problems that can be solve by technology; (3) External mandate; (4) Strategically Determined. And that is why a company needs an Information System.

5th week of Intrict~
We had only one meeting due to the cancelation of classes last monday because of typhoon FRANK. For our meeting, we had to report about our interview with the managers. Shervin, Alvin and Jet 1st reported about their company interview. I learned from their report about the functional company and the managers duty. 2nd, we voluntered to be the next group to report. I learned from their report and our report that a manager can be a tactical and operational manager at the same time. The things that both managers do can be connected and can be done by a single person. Like Jerome Garrido, he acts us both operational and tactical in different ways thus we our correct in our report (yes!!!
). I was so nervous during the presentation that I was shaking and I couldn't speak well because I had a cold, good thing we got through it
.

4th week of Intrict~
Sir Oli gave an "announced quiz" because it was announced at 8:00 am and the quiz was on 8:10 >.<. Anyways, I got a twelve out of fifteen in the 1st part, I'm soooo LUCKY lol.
We learned about the different employees of a company, from an excecutive to the workers. ICT professionals have the shortest way of going to the top because its just 2 steps to the top, but ofcourse it wont be the easy. Unlike other positions, they have go to alot of steps to be on the top. We also learned about the divisions of a company like; Marketing, Human Resource, Sales, IT, Accounting, Manufacturing and Finance, Customer Service, Inventory and Purchases. In addition, we learned about the 3 types of manager; Executive manager. Middle manager, and Operational manager. Each division has its own resposibilities, the Operational managers are in charge of the every day work of the employees; they are also responsible for putting to work the plans of the company. The Middle manager are in charge of making plans and getting status or progress reports from operational manager in order to monitor their status. They are incharge of managing and to look after the Cost, Time, Resource and Risks in every project of the company. The Executive managers are responsible for observing the whole company and making reports at every year. This is an enterprise, which needs to be productive than ever to become more succesfull. In connecting to the discussion, Sir Oli gave us an assignment to interview a Tactical Manager and Operational Manager and to make a presentation about it. Together with my groupmates, namely Dennis Diego and Ivan Catapang, we interviewed Jerome and Candy Garrido and BJ Reyes. They made a company called PowerLink, we got to know them because they were classmates and friends of my cousin JL Abrahan; they are all Lasallian graduates and they were students of Sir Oli.

3rd week of INTRICT
We only had 1 meeting for Intrict this week. Sir Oli taught us the things an ICTM profesional should have.
-Being a Leader. He told us that we should be capable of being a leader to companies we will work for.
-Responsibilities. We should be able to do our responsibilities with all we got to be succesful in our profession.
-It is not gonna be easy. He told us of what is to come and from the looks of it, its not gonna be easy. According to Sir Oli, we should be grateful for the sleep that we will get for the higher years will have less sleep because of too much work
-We also learned that out of 100 students, only 1 will have the job
-We have to learn a lot of programming languages, we need to be able to work in teams and independently.
-its gonna be really hard but I know and I will be able to be a succesful ICTM professional

IT Job Analysis
Another Assignment given to us was to find 25 IT job posting and to analyze each one. We should know the technical skills, non-technical skills and responsibilities the companies are looking for. And here are some graphs to represent the skills and responsibilities that most companies need. The x-axis is for the number of companies, and the y-axis for the skills:

I want Microsoft Surface XD~
For INTRICT, Sir Oli showed us videos of what Microsoft wants to do and has done it. The Microsoft surface is a touch screen comp that is so awesome!
Here's a link for some videos from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/surface/videos.html
According to microsoft, Microsoft Surface represents a fundamental change in the way we interact with digital content.
With Surface, we can actually grab data with our hands, and move information between objects with natural gestures and touch.
Surface features a 30-inch tabletop display whose unique abilities allow for several people to work independently or simultaneously. All without using a mouse or keyboard.
Source:http://www.microsoft.com/surface/about.html
"Surface is essentially a Windows Vista PC tucked inside a table, topped with a 30-inch reflective surface in a clear acrylic frame. A projector underneath the surface projects an image onto its underside, while five cameras in the machine's housing record reflections of infrared light from human fingertips. The camera can also recognize objects placed on the surface if those objects have specially-designed "tags" applied to them. Users can interact with the machine by touching or dragging their fingertips and objects such as paintbrushes across the screen, or by placing and moving tagged objects. Surface has been optimized to respond to 52 touches at a time. During a demonstration with a reporter, Mark Bolger, the Surface Computing group's marketing director, "dipped" his finger in an on-screen paint palette, then dragged it across the screen to draw a smiley face. Then he used all 10 fingers at once to give the face a full head of hair.
In addition to recognizing finger movements, Microsoft Surface can also identify physical objects. Microsoft says that when a diner sets down a wine glass, for example, the table can automatically offer additional wine choices tailored to the dinner being eaten.
Prices will reportedly be $5,000 to $10,000 per unit. However Microsoft said it expects prices to drop enough to make consumer versions feasible in 2010.Partner companies plan to use the Surface in their hotels, restaurants, and retail stores. The Surface is to be used to choose meals at restaurants, plan vacations and spots to visit from the hotel room. Starwood Hotels plan to allow users to drop a credit card on the table to pay for music, books, and other amenities offered at the resort. In AT&T stores use of the Surface include interactive presentations of plans, coverage, and phone features, in addition to dropping two different phones on the table and having the customer be able to view and compare prices, features, and plans."

Microsoft Surface looks easy to use cause you only have to use your fingers and do things the way you wanna do it! It looks user-friendly and it revolutionize the way we use computers.
It is one of the most amazing technology in the world, but it comes with a high prize.
Its good but I think it will be hard to go anywhere with it because of its size.lol
It is an awesome device and I want some, but I dont think I can afford it.lol

For my 1st class, which started at 8:00am, i had INTRICT1 and my prof is Sir Ollie XD. He gave us our 1st hw which was to create a gmail account, a blogspot account and to make blogs every week XD. And thats the reason for this blog XD. On the second meeting, he taught us the beauty of gmail. He showed us the components of gmail and its difference from Yahoo!. Thats what we learned from INTRICT. =)
Now, for the gimiks~
On the first day, we ate at SEX(Sinigang Express XD ), there were like 12 of us all in one table XD. The next day we ate in a small shop besides jet's dorm but sherv and I just had ice tea cause we wanted Japanese food.lol. On our third day, Gelo, Ivan, Joshua, Harold, Quino and I ate at z2 and after eating we played dota, we're i dominated.lol. On the 4th day we only had an hour and 30 minutes, so jet decided to go to MoA but I had to go home to batangas at 1:00pm so we decided to stay in the conservatory to wait for me to get home, jet brought his laptop and we just chilled there till 12:00pm. When I left, they went straight to MoA to have a food trip LOL.
Thats the end of my blog, its my 1st time to do one so bear with me ^^
