5th week of Intrict~

We had only one meeting due to the cancelation of classes last monday because of typhoon FRANK. For our meeting, we had to report about our interview with the managers. Shervin, Alvin and Jet 1st reported about their company interview. I learned from their report about the functional company and the managers duty. 2nd, we voluntered to be the next group to report. I learned from their report and our report that a manager can be a tactical and operational manager at the same time. The things that both managers do can be connected and can be done by a single person. Like Jerome Garrido, he acts us both operational and tactical in different ways thus we our correct in our report (yes!!!Photobucket). I was so nervous during the presentation that I was shaking and I couldn't speak well because I had a cold, good thing we got through itPhotobucket.

4th week of Intrict~

Sir Oli gave an "announced quiz" because it was announced at 8:00 am and the quiz was on 8:10 >.<. Anyways, I got a twelve out of fifteen in the 1st part, I'm soooo LUCKY lol.PhotobucketWe learned about the different employees of a company, from an excecutive to the workers. ICT professionals have the shortest way of going to the top because its just 2 steps to the top, but ofcourse it wont be the easy. Unlike other positions, they have go to alot of steps to be on the top. We also learned about the divisions of a company like; Marketing, Human Resource, Sales, IT, Accounting, Manufacturing and Finance, Customer Service, Inventory and Purchases. In addition, we learned about the 3 types of manager; Executive manager. Middle manager, and Operational manager. Each division has its own resposibilities, the Operational managers are in charge of the every day work of the employees; they are also responsible for putting to work the plans of the company. The Middle manager are in charge of making plans and getting status or progress reports from operational manager in order to monitor their status. They are incharge of managing and to look after the Cost, Time, Resource and Risks in every project of the company. The Executive managers are responsible for observing the whole company and making reports at every year. This is an enterprise, which needs to be productive than ever to become more succesfull. In connecting to the discussion, Sir Oli gave us an assignment to interview a Tactical Manager and Operational Manager and to make a presentation about it. Together with my groupmates, namely Dennis Diego and Ivan Catapang, we interviewed Jerome and Candy Garrido and BJ Reyes. They made a company called PowerLink, we got to know them because they were classmates and friends of my cousin JL Abrahan; they are all Lasallian graduates and they were students of Sir Oli.Photobucket

I want Microsoft Surface XD~

For INTRICT, Sir Oli showed us videos of what Microsoft wants to do and has done it. The Microsoft surface is a touch screen comp that is so awesome!

Here's a link for some videos from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/surface/videos.html

According to microsoft, Microsoft Surface represents a fundamental change in the way we interact with digital content.

With Surface, we can actually grab data with our hands, and move information between objects with natural gestures and touch.

Surface features a 30-inch tabletop display whose unique abilities allow for several people to work independently or simultaneously. All without using a mouse or keyboard.

"Surface is essentially a Windows Vista PC tucked inside a table, topped with a 30-inch reflective surface in a clear acrylic frame. A projector underneath the surface projects an image onto its underside, while five cameras in the machine's housing record reflections of infrared light from human fingertips. The camera can also recognize objects placed on the surface if those objects have specially-designed "tags" applied to them. Users can interact with the machine by touching or dragging their fingertips and objects such as paintbrushes across the screen, or by placing and moving tagged objects. Surface has been optimized to respond to 52 touches at a time. During a demonstration with a reporter, Mark Bolger, the Surface Computing group's marketing director, "dipped" his finger in an on-screen paint palette, then dragged it across the screen to draw a
smiley face. Then he used all 10 fingers at once to give the face a full head of hair.
In addition to recognizing finger movements, Microsoft Surface can also identify physical objects. Microsoft says that when a diner sets down a wine glass, for example, the table can automatically offer additional
wine choices tailored to the dinner being eaten.
Prices will reportedly be $5,000 to $10,000 per unit. However Microsoft said it expects prices to drop enough to make consumer versions feasible in 2010.Partner companies plan to use the Surface in their hotels, restaurants, and retail stores. The Surface is to be used to choose meals at restaurants, plan vacations and spots to visit from the hotel room. Starwood Hotels plan to allow users to drop a credit card on the table to pay for music, books, and other amenities offered at the resort. In AT&T stores use of the Surface include interactive presentations of plans, coverage, and phone features, in addition to dropping two different phones on the table and having the customer be able to view and compare prices, features, and plans."

Microsoft Surface looks easy to use cause you only have to use your fingers and do things the way you wanna do it! It looks user-friendly and it revolutionize the way we use computers.
It is one of the most amazing technology in the world, but it comes with a high prize.
Its good but I think it will be hard to go anywhere with it because of its size.lol

It is an awesome device and I want some, but I dont think I can afford it.lol
